LOEK YUM LEVELS

The English translation of Taoism is inadequate because it fails to differentiate between Religious Taoism (Dao-jiao) 道教 and philosophical Taoism (Dao-jia) 道家. In the West, if anyone says they are a Taoist it's probably because they've read some Taoist texts, practice 太極拳 Taijiquan, practice 氣功 Qigong, study 針灸 acupuncture or 風水 Fengsui. Although these practices may indeed be Taoist arts, that doesn't make the enthusiast a true Taoist. Just as in Buddhism, one who is extremely well versed in the Sutras cannot effectively proclaim herself a Buddhist. There has to be a ritual performed by a qualified monk...

Most people tend to have very busy lives. Because of things like work, family or any other matter, people don't have a lot of time for too many rituals (i.e. going to church every Sunday). Fortunately in Loek Yum Sun Goong, in order to maintain ones Supernatural Power, one is only required to perform two rituals a year. That's all it takes to cover the first two levels. Of course if one decides one wants to go to higher levels, then a more intensive level of devotion is required.
