爐香銅
Pictured above is a standard 3" inside diameter brass incense urn. What is the deal with urns?
An urn is an urn whether it's made out of brass, tin, silver, gold, stone or ceramics and whatever
size it may be, there is no spiritual distinction between them. The only spiritual distinction in urns
is the difference between urns that have been consecrated and those that have not. When you light up incense and
put it an urn that has not been consecrated, you have absolutely no idea which entity/spirit/ghost/deity will come
from your invitation, it could be evil regardless of your good intentions. A consecrated urn, in most
cases, is consecrated with one specific entity/spirit/ghost/deity, so when you light up incense and put it in the
consecrated urn, only the entity/spirit/ghost/deity that the urn has been consecrated with will come from your
invitation (this goes for statues as well). I do not offer to the public urns that are not consecrated.
I can consecrate an urn with any deity within the Taoist realms.
